JEVS Human Services 70th Anniversary Dinner
posted by: cheintzelman
Summary:
JEVS Human Services celebrates 70 years of leadership and commitment to the Greater Philadelphia community as a whole
Description:
Founded by 25 concerned citizens in 1941, Jewish Educational and Vocational Services sought to help Jewish refugees, escaping the persecution and ravages in Europe, find meaningful work in their new homeland. Recognizing the honor and dignity located in self-sufficiency and meaningful work, the organization rapidly expanded to serve many, facing a wide variety of economic hardships and disabilities. Today, JEVS Human Services remains committed to the mission of Tikkun Olam - to repair the world - knowing that to serve individuals from all walks of life is also the best way to strengthen the Jewish community.
