Opportunity to learn about repositories & resources for research and get hands-on instruction in research techniques, data bases, etc.
Description:
Attendees will be able to connect with representatives of various area repositories and resources in order to broaden the scope of their genealogical research. These include NJ State Archives, DNA-Shoah Project, local Family History Centers, JewishGen, Jewish Genealogical Society of New York, National Archives & Records Administration, Camden County Historical Society, and Jewish Federation of Cumberland, Gloucester, & Salem Counties.
In addition attendees will be able to get hands-on direction in getting started in genealogy research, Philadelphia ethnic bank records, Russian history and research, German research,past Jewish neighborhoods in various parts of Philadelphia, computer research, reference books and related maps.
The Philadelphia Jewish Voice is an online non-profit volunteer based community newspaper serving the Philadelphia Jewish Community since 2005. We are dedicated to addressing the important social, political and cultural issues facing our community in a spirit of honesty, integrity and diversity.
